What do I wear during a massage?

During a massage you dress down to your level of comfort.  I will work around whatever clothing you wear.   During the massage you will be covered with a sheet and blanket and I will work on one body part at a time.  You will never be naked on the table.

Are there any types of massages that I can get while fully clothed?

Yes.  My recommendation would be to have a shiatsu massage which is performed on a mat on the floor with you wearing loose comfortable clothing.  Another good option is chair massage which is performed in a massage chair with you fully clothed.

Is it a good idea to get a massage during a very stressful time in life.

Yes, it can really help with relaxation.  But I would recommend a hot rock massage, shiatsu, or a light to medium pressure massage with the focus on relaxation.    Be aware that  you might experience an emotional release which is natural and a healthy part of the healing process.

Should massage hurt?

During a deep tissue massage you might experience the “hurt so good,”  But no…it should not hurt.  It is a misconception that a massage needs to hurt to work.  If the pressure is too deep it important to notify the therapist so that she can adjust the pressure.
